Accoya® wood is one of the world’s leading high technology wood:

• It is a solid wood that is sourced from fast-growing responsibly managed forests, has zero toxicity and provides dimensional stability and durability that exceeds even the best tropical hardwoods.
• It can replace increasingly scarce tropical hardwoods, treated woods and less sustainable materials in new and existing outdoor applications.
• It acts as a better carbon sink during its extended life span and can be safely recycled at the end.

 

Green Features

• First, Accoya® have achieved the highest durability class possible (Class 1 – EN 350), are guaranteed up to 50 years and have received several quality certifications (KOMO, RAL, BBA, WDMA, etc.). Therefore the proven longer lifespan enables lower material consumption (less replacement!) over the same period compared to most other materials, while having larger carbon sequestration benefits.
• Secondly,the superior dimensional stability of Accoya® means less coatings need to be used not only relating to a lower environmental impact but to lower costs as well.
• Finally, Accoya® Wood has a Solar Reflection Index (SRI) value equal to 81 which helps to limit the heat island effect.
